Braised Five Spices Tofu with Mushroom

Tofu or bean curd is rich in high quality protein, a great substitute to meat in daily intake. This healthy vegetarian food contains a high percentage of essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, calcium and iron, yet low percentage of sodium and fats. You can stir fry, braise, steam or serve with salad. Below is my recipe for braised tofu. For better result, you may marinate and put in fridge overnight before cooking.

Stir-fried Gai-lan with Tofu

Gai-lan or Kai-lan is widely eaten in Chinese - Cantonese and Vietnamese Cruisine. The thick glossy blue-green leaves with thick and tiny stems create beautiful color of a dish. At the same time, it is crispy in mouth. The following simple recipe serves 2.

To replace the West Soy Sesame Peanut Tofu, you may brown or braise the plain tofu in prior to this cooking.
