Ground Beef Vegetarian Chow Mein 炒面

Chow Mein (炒面) is stir-fried noodles in Chinese language. Now, you can avoid eating greasy chow mein or carrying a heavy wok by using the technique of tossing instead of frying. Chow mien with Linguine pasta makes this recipe even more special and nutritious.

The following ingredients yield 2-3 servings.




Ingredients:
6 oz Linguine Pasta
1/4 cup ground beef
1/3 cup snap peas
1 quart of orange bell pepper, stripped
3 big white mushroom, sliced
2 Tbsp onion, thinly sliced
2 tsp canola oil

sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 Tbsp corn starch

1 Tbsp white vinegar
1/2 Tbsp sugar
3 Tbsp water (or beef stock)
2 garlic clove, minced
1 tsp minced ginger
1 pinch of Hon Dashi (optional)

Directions:
(1) Cook pasta according to the instruction of the package
Tips: Add little salt and few oil drops
(2) Set aside the cooked pasta and let cool
(3) Check for the readiness and heat cooking oil
(4) Mix well the sauce and leave for later use
(5) With low heat, stir the onion, 1 minute
(6) Turn to medium heat, stir fry the ground beef with onion, 3 minutes
(7) Add in mushroom, continue to stir fry, 2 minutes
(8) Remove everything and set aside
(9) Stir fry the vegetables, 4 minutes
(10) Add in the pasta and (8), toss and mix well
(11) Pour in the sauce, stir to mix well
(12) Flavor with salt and pepper, serve immediately in plate
