Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Teriyaki is a cooking technique originated in Japanese cuisine. It's all about the sweet soy sauce and marinate meat or fish before broiling or grilling. This is a simple version of teriyaki chicken with simple homemade teriyaki sauce and baked for a non-greasy dish.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serves 4


Ingredients:
1.3 pounds chicken (any part at your preference)
1/2 cup of Kikkoman soy sauce
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/3 cup of Japanese white wine, sake
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 thin sliced ginger
1/2 tsp salt


Directions:
(1) Wash and rinse well the chicken
(2) Remove excessive fat under the skin
(3) Cut the chicken into bite size
(4) In a big bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger and salt
(5) Marinate the chicken with the teriyaki sauce, 15-20 minutes
(6) Preheat oven to 425 degree F
(7) Add sake into the marinated chicken
(8) Bake in the oven for 30 minutes
(9) Serve with jasmine plain rice and stir-fried vegetable or salad ;)

Note: Garnish with roasted sesame seed or bake with raw sesame seed
